“Don’t be afraid of the space between your dreams and reality. If you can dream it, you can make it so.” - Belva Davis
Born to a 15-year-old Louisiana laundry worker during the Great Depression, young Belva Davis and her family escape white threats by joining the Black migration out of the South, ending up in northern California. Davis overcomes racism and sexism to become one of the most respected journalists in the country - covering the nation’s growing civil rights struggle and the often tumultuous City of San Francisco.
